Thanks for Sunday's (Dec 9) message to challenge me to put on Christ and not the culture. You really challenged me to faithfulness to Christ and his Body. But to take up the challenge, I will need to take an action step, a fruit of repentence, to be less like the culture and more like Christ. God help me to do it. Amen

There are incredible businesses in the Wixom area that have continually gone above and beyond the call of duty to help us with our outreach events. Coffee and More, Backyard Coney, and Beaners (Biggby), Dairy Queen, and Uptown Market just to name a few. As you are out and about in the area, please keep these businesses in mind. Lately Beaners and Backyard Coney have gone to even greater heights to help New Vintage take the word of God out into the community. They have supported us and it is my hope that we can support them with our patronage as much as possible. Thanks again for taking the Gospel to the people (Outreach), not just waiting for the people to wander in (In-reach) before we get to tell them about the life changing relationship we get to have (through His Grace) with our Lord and Savior.

What an amazing message and service today. The Biblical teaching and application for all of our lives was so relevant for everyone. Thank you for the message and the ways to apply it to my life. I do not desire to serve 2 masters, I pray that God will help me to: Put In, Put Off, Put On, and Put Up. Thank you to all of those who greeted me so warmly, I felt very welcomed. Lastly, I hope this message will be available on the website soon. I would like to share it with a family member.

We've come a long way. It was just a few years ago when we couldn't get the City of Wixom to let us participate in anything the City sponsored. In the last year alone we've been involved in 3 separate community events and we are getting personal thank you letters from City officials. We had over 65 brand new guests come to the Thanksgiving Day dinner. That outreach event has brought a number of those guests back on Sunday's to worship. We have helped with a homeless man, helped a single mother, ministered to a nursing home resident, provided presents to a family in need, and the list goes on....just since the Thanksgiving Dinner!!!! I have never seen a group of people die to self and serve more than the group of people calling New Vintage home. I am honored to know you and call you friends. The Holy Spirit is alive and well. The amazing thing to me is the way you all look for ways to serve others. You don't look for a program to to them about, or a person to shuffle them off to, or just pass by hoping someone else will say something. You all just go out and make something happen. I also have to say that we have great examples on servant leaders in Jason and Kristie (and their entire family). It is their example that shows all of us what it means to preach the Word of God and if we must use words. Thank you all again for who you are and what you do everyday to take the love of Jesus to the lost and practice the Great Commission.

Something Strange
I have come to realize God is a God of great surprises who works in mysterious and wonderful ways. The other day, I was praying and wondering how we could help the people God has brought to us who are in need. How do I share their need with you and how do we organize a team to help? And then I hear a member say, "our small group is adopting this visitor." Then I hear how a family took action that very day and still is doing acts of kindness. This is what I call the strange work of the Holy Spirit that moves us to love others and serve others even before they ask. Thank you for having an open and obedient heart to God's Spirit. This is an example of what Jesus said," Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and your neighbor as yourself." Luke 10:27. You are the modern day Good Samaritan who is serving people and the Lord. |
